The Chef's tips
Drink the Limoncello liqueur, a description of which you will find on our site, as its lemon flavour goes well with this ice cream.
Curiosity
Once upon a time, before there were freezers, ice cream was made laying a bowl with the ice cream on a bed of hot ice and stirring every now and then until it was amalgamated.
Boil 150 gr. of sugar with a pinch of salt and one and half a glass of water for about 5 minutes. Add the milk and the lemon and mix well. Put the mixture into a bowl preferably metal as it freezes better. Whip the egg whites and the remaining sugar together until they are firm.
YTakethe mixture out of the freezer and crush it with a spoon. Using an electric blender or a whip, blend until it's creamy. Add the egg whites then place the ice-cream back into the freezer again - soon it will be ready. Serve in small bowls or ice-cream tumblers. Decorate with candied fruit or wafers, choclate rinds or hundreds and thousands. Buon appetito!
It's to die for!
