Something to drink

A Flask of Wine, a Book of Verse and Thou Beside me singing in the Wilderness and Wilderness is Paradise enow. This is a verse taken from the Rubaiyat of the Persian poet Omar Khayyam. Indeed, wine is not only something you drink, it is part of dreams, territories, food, cultures and traditions. Italian wines, in fact, come from the times when the Mediterranean basin was the scene on which the players moved about bringing with them their customs and their wines as well as their culinary habits, each one enriching the tables of the others, just like it does today.

Italy is wine country, you only have to take a trip anywhere to see that every region vies with the next to offer its best. The people make great efforts combining grapes, their fertile soil, a pinch of fantasy, experiments and hard work to produce the nectar of the Gods and Bacchus puts in his little touch. Wine was born to give pleasure, starting from an aperitif and ending up with a liqueur. It is the final complement gracing a table, shining red in elegant glasses, sparkling white with its bubbles, not to mention rosé. Each one adapted to certain dishes and this is an art within itself.
