Preparation Wash and clean the salad leaves and remove all the water. Peel the figs, oranges and apples. Slice the oranges and apples finely and cut the figs into halves.

Choose 6 small salad dishes or plates and place the salad leaves to form the base of your salad. Then arrange a fig half, a few orange and apple slices. Slice the Parmesan cheese and add slivers onto each of your salads followed by a few black olives .

Season with salt and pepper and sprinkle sparsely with extra virgin olive oil and a few of the sesame seeds.

The Chef's tips Be sure to buy fruit that is not too ripe but firm enough so that your salad does not droop when you serve it on the table. Drink a glass of Sauvignon del Friuli wine with your salad.

Curiosity In the olden days figs were considered to cure colds and used together with hot milk and honey to soften dry coughs
