Description
This wine is a product of the region of the Basilicata. It is made from the Aglianico grapes of Greek origin which can be found both in the Basilicata and the Campania regions. It is considered one of the best Italian vines and produces grapes of a dark ruby colour, velvety. They have a full bodied flavour and are rich in tannin and may be kept in wooden casks for long periods.
The origin of the Aglianico goes back a long time. It seems that the Greeks imported it twenty five years ago and the Romans then gave it this name. Today, Aglianico del Vulture is one of the most appreciated red wines produced in this country. The soil and climate in this region are most suitable for the production of this wine.
