Description
Wine was already produced in Puglia before the year 2000 b.c. brought by the Phoenician merchants who gave great impetus to this cultivation introducing new vines and techniques. The Greeks later were astonished to find such progress and contributed themselves to the wine industry. The Romans too occupied this region and found a flourishing activity.
After many mishaps and developments over the centuries, the wines produced from this fertile region offer us many excellent wines such as the Leverano Rosè. It is mainly made from the Negro Amaro (bitter black) grapes.
It is particularly suited to fish soup, mixed Italian fries, white meat.
